Regular Board Meeting Minutes
Wednesday, April 20, 2016
The Board of Trustees of School District No. 58, Bingham County, Idaho met in regular session at 7:00 p.m. on April 20, 2016 at the Bingham County Road and Bridge Shop, Springfield, Idaho.
CALL TO ORDER AND ESTABLISHMENT OF A QUORUM
Vice Chairman Elaine Blik opened the meeting at 7:00 p.m. Also present were Todd Lowder and Mike Shackelford for a Quorum of Board Members. Herb Bohrer and Braden Driscoll were absent.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE
Those present recited the Pledge of Allegiance.
DELEGATION AND PATRON INPUT
T.J. Phillips, Mathew Wheeler, Oscar Flores, Talon Campau and Sadie Nugent presented their high school senior projects.
SUPERINTENDENT and ADMINISTATOR REPORTS
Superintendent Ward went over her written report. She thanked the post office with their help on the bond brochures and discussed the new arctic doors that were completed in the district cafeteria.
Travis Pincock went over his written report and highlighted the first track meet in Aberdeen in over 40 years. The track was resurfaced and additional track equipment has been purchased. Ann Mennear went over her written report and highlighted ISAT testing started on April 18th and the technology in place for these tests are working well.
Robi Jo Colton went over her written report. Two elementary school teachers are leaving at the end of the school year. She also discussed the district evacuation drill scheduled for April 29th. David Vaughn went over his written report. Child Find screening will be on May 13th and summer school will begin June 6th.
APPROVAL OF AGENDA
There was an addition to the agenda to add the resignation of Janet O’Brien as elementary school teacher under business items (8G). A motion was made by Trustee Lowder and seconded by Trustee Shackelford to approve the agenda as amended. The motion passed.

A motion was made by Trustee Shackelford to approve consent items AF as presented and seconded by Trustee Lowder. The motion passed.
BUSINESS ITEMS
Approval of Board Policies:

A motion to approve the policies named above was made by Trustee Lowder and seconded by Trustee Shackelford. The motion passed.
Confirm Date and Time to Hold Budget Hearing as June 15, 2016 at 6:30 p.m.
A motion to approve the date and time to hold the annual budget hearing as June 15, 2016 at 6:30 p.m. was made by Trustee Lowder and seconded by Trustee Shackelford. The motion passed.
Approve the sale of two school buses: Bluebird Bus #0219, 72 Passenger and Bluebird Bus #0016, 13 Passenger A motion was made by Trustee Lowder to approve the sale of bus #0016 and bus #0219 and seconded by Trustee Shackelford. The motion passed.

No motion necessary, for review only.
Approve the Resignation (Retirement) of Irene Beach as Elementary School Teacher A motion was made by Trustee Shackelford to approve the resignation of Irene each as elementary school teacher and seconded by Trustee Lowder. The motion passed.
Approve Roof Bid for District Office and Elementary School No roof bids were received, no motion necessary.
Approve the Resignation of Janet O’Brien as Elementary School Teacher
A motion was made by Trustee Shackelford to approve the resignation of Janet O’Brien as elementary school teacher and seconded by Trustee Lowder. The motion passed.
TRUSTEE INPUT
Trustee Shackelford was sad to see Mrs. O’Brien leave the school after so many years of teaching and is excited about the track meets now in Aberdeen.
Trustee Lowder was impressed with the senior projects presented at the meeting and commented that the bond brochures look good. He also appreciated watching the Aberdeen middle school musical.
Trustee Blik was excited about the recent track meet and the community participation involved. She is also pleased with the bond brochures and reminded everyone to discuss and promote the upcoming bond for the high school.
A brief discussion was held to discuss high school building keys, the building needs of the district, negotiation items and for someone to attend negotiations on Monday, April 25th. No motion was necessary, for discussion only.
A motion to adjourn the meeting was made by Trustee Lowder and seconded by Trustee Shackelford. The motion passed and the meeting adjourned at 8:19 pm.
