Policy 412.5: Delegation of Responsibility and Authority

AUTHORITY

The Board of Trustees recognizes the need for the establishment and the efficient operation of many groups for departments to support the prime purpose for which the public schools have been organized.  Therefore, the Superintendent of Schools, being the chief executive officer for the operation of School District No. 58 is charged with the responsibility of organizing, staffing and training of personnel needed to provide support to the educational program.  Accountability for the service rendered rests with the Superintendent.

RESPONSIBILITY

To facilitate good management, the Superintendent is empowered to delegate responsibility for major departments of groups to staff members as he may choose.

ORIENTATION

The statement of Board policy and statement of administrative procedures will be placed in each District building for use by all District employees.
