The Board of Trustees of School District No. 58, Bingham County, Idaho met in a work session by teleconference at 10:00 am on Thursday, January 16th, 2025 at the Aberdeen School District office at 268 S 4th W Suite A Aberdeen, Idaho.
CALL TO ORDER AND ESTABLISHMENT OF A QUORUM
Chairman Brian Rowlan opened the meeting at 10:05 a.m. Present were Amy Burusco, and Sherrie Mauroner. James Patten and Aimee Elliott were absent. A quorum was established.
PURPOSE OF MEETING AND BUSINESS CONDUCTED
The meeting was advertised to approve the bid to repair the middle school gym roof.
Thomas D. Robison Roofing was the contractor that had previously completed work on the middle school roof. They provided three options to repair the middle school roof that is leaking. Option 1 was to replace the wall flashings for $16,250. Option 2 was for new roofing on the south half of the gymnasium for $60,500. Option 3 was for new roofing on the gymnasium for $116,000 with a 2-year installers warranty and a 20-year manufacturers labor and material warranty with 72 mph wind speed coverage. Troy Reynolds that that at a minimum we should go with option 2 for a partial new roof as replacing the wall flashings in option 1 were not enough for long term repairs. The 20-year warranty was an important part of the option under consideration and there was a general consensus that the roof repairs should have a good warranty so we don’t have problems that need repairs again in a few years. Trustee Patten was unable to attend the work session but had indicated to Trustee Rowlan prior to the meeting that he will support the option that the board votes on to fix the middle school roof.
A motion was made by Trustee Burusco and seconded by Trustee Mauroner to approve option 3 from the Thomas D Robison Roofing middle school gym roof repair proposal for $116,000. The motion passed.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by Trustee Burusco and seconded by Trustee Mauroner to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed and the meeting adjourned at 10:15 p.m.
