Transportation Vehicle Purchase Fund

A Transportation Vehicle Purchase Fund (VPF) will be maintained for the purchase of district vehicles.  Receipts to the fund will include:

1.         Reimbursement from school organizations using motor pool vehicles at a rate of  10 cents per mile.

Expenditures will include:

1.         The purchase of service vehicles including pickups, trucks, and cars.

2.         The driver education car (unless a car can be borrowed from a car dealer).

District Motor Pool

Aberdeen School District will maintain, in addition to its regular bus fleet, a fleet of service vehicles including, a service pickup, a driver education car, and district passenger car(s). The following guidelines will be followed in regards to using motor pool vehicles.

1.         Organizations using district transportation will be charged 45 cents per mile. 

10 cents will be returned to the VPF and 35 cents will be used for maintaining the vehicle, including gasoline and oil.

2.         When traveling schedules conflict, the district car will be used for the longest trip; shorter trip(s) will be reimbursed at the current district reimbursement rate.  The state reimbursement rate will be used when the state participates in reimbursement.

3.         Motor pool travel will be requested and scheduled through normal vehicle request procedures.  Approval of the building principal is required for out of the district travel.
