Policy 427: Employees Dress and Conduct

The Aberdeen School District No. 58 reserves the right to insist that the dress, grooming, and conduct of employees are within the limits of generally accepted good taste.  Employee dress, personal appearance, and conduct are to be exemplary in character and appropriate to the activity.

A general guide would be to conservatively follow prevailing styles.  However, employees shall refrain from extremes or instances where an employee may call attention to himself by unusual or extreme dress, grooming, or behavior.

Immoral conduct on the part of any employee shall constitute grounds for immediate suspension.  Any employee who commits or attempts to induce students or others to commit acts of immoral conduct, that in the immediate supervisor’s judgement, may be harmful to others or bring discredit to the district, shall be suspended and informed of his hearing rights.  If it appears that the law may be violated, the district shall cooperate with the law enforcement agencies.

It is expected that employees refrain from the use of profanity in all school activities and functions.

Aberdeen School District is a Drug Free Work Place.  Employees are required to abide by the requirements.
