Policy 306: Superintendent Authority

The superintendent is the executive officer of the board of trustees in Aberdeen School District No. 58 and is granted such powers and duties as the board may prescribe, including authority to make administrative decisions on issues not specifically covered by written board policy when circumstances and time restrictions make such action necessary (e.g., Policy No: 409.50, Administrative Leave: Delegation of Authority).  The superintendent’s decision will be subject to review and may be ratified or nullified by action of the board at its next regular or special meeting.

The superintendent is also the authorized representative of the district whenever such representation is required, unless another individual is named by the board to act as its authorized representative.
