Board Minutes: 01/27/2026

The Board of Trustees of School District No. 58, Bingham County, Idaho met in an executive session at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, January 27th, 2026 at the Aberdeen School District office at 268 S 4th W Suite A, Aberdeen, Idaho.

CALL TO ORDER AND ESTABLISHMENT OF A QUORUM

Chairman Brian Rowlan opened the meeting at 2:35 p.m.  Present were Sherrie Mauroner, James Patten and Aimee Elliott.  A quorum was established.  Amy Burusco arrived at 2:53 pm.

PURPOSE OF MEETING AND BUSINESS CONDUCTED

The meeting was advertised for an executive session to consider the evaluation, dismissal or disciplining of, or to hear complaints or charges brought against, a public officer, employee, staff member or individual agent, or public school student.

EXECUTIVE SESSION

At 2:36 p.m., a motion was made by Trustee Elliott and seconded by Trustee Patten that the Board of Trustees of School District No. 58 recess from an open meeting into executive session pursuant to Section 74-206(1), Idaho Code, in order to discuss Section 74-206(1): Subsection (b) to consider the evaluation, dismissal, or discipling of, or to hear complaints or charges brought against, a public officer, employee, staff member or individual agent, or public school student and that following the executive session the Board will reconvene in public session for the purpose of conducting further business or for adjournment of the meeting.

A roll call vote was held with the following results:

Brian Rowlan – Yes; Amy Burusco– Absent; Sherrie Mauroner – Yes; James Patten – Yes and Aimee Elliott – Yes.  The motion passed. 

Others present were Jane Ward, Travis Pincock, Sargent Henri and Teresa Torres with (Student A).

A motion was made by Trustee Mauroner and seconded by Trustee Burusco to return to open session and the motion passed.  The Regular session reconvened at 6:32 p.m.

A motion was made by Trustee Mauroner and seconded by Trustee Burusco for:

The expulsion of (Student A) for one year and (Student A) may return to school under the following conditions:  completes 20 hours of community service at the shop and there are no major disciplinary issues; maintain a C average and there are no extra-curricular activities unless participating. 

Expulsion of (Student B) for one year – expulsion ends beginning of the 1st semester of 2027. 

Expulsion for one year for (Student C) and (Student C) may return to school under these conditions:  Maintains a C average; (Student C) is dropped off to & from school, no athletic events without adult supervision and there are no major disciplinary issues.  The motion passed.

If conditions are not met, (Student A) and (Student C) will be expelled until the beginning of the 2026-2027 second semester.

ADJOURNMENT

With no further action needed, a motion was made by Trustee Burusco and seconded by Trustee Mauroner to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed and the meeting adjourned at 6:34 p.m.
