In an effort to protect student and teacher instructional time from interruptions from commercial vendors, the following policy is established:
1. Commercial vendors may not contact students or teachers during instructional hours.
2. Students may not be released from class to meet with commercial vendors.
3. Building principals should schedule meetings with text book and instructional materials representatives in orderto minimize the disruption of class time.
4. Commercial vendors of non-educational materials or equipment may place product or service information or a meeting announcement in employee mail boxes or on faculty room bulletin boards; meetings must be held during non instructional hours. Employees are not required to attend any meeting called by such vendors. Such vendors may not solicit business by going from room to room.
5. Teachers, with administrator approval, may invite commercial vendors to give class presentations on career awareness, business/industry skills, technology, etc.
6. Repairmen may, at the request of the teacher or principal, perform equipment repair during class time so long as it does not unduly disrupt the class.
