Board Work Session
The Board of Trustees of School District No. 58, Bingham County, Idaho met in a work session at 5:00 pm on Tuesday, February 27th 2024 at the Aberdeen School District office at 268 S 4th W Suite A Aberdeen, Idaho.
CALL TO ORDER AND ESTABLISHMENT OF A QUORUM
Chairman Brian opened the meeting at 5:00 p.m. Present were Amy Burusco, Sherrie Mauroner, James Patten and Aimee Elliott. A quorum was established.
PURPOSE OF MEETING AND BUSINESS CONDUCTED
The meeting was advertised to discuss the 2024-2025 school calendar.
There was patron input from multiple community members and staff discussing different starting and ending times for the school day, the length of the day for students and reducing two Fridays. The consensus was to reduce two snow days built into the calendar to reduce two Fridays for the students. It was discussed that if the built-in snow days were exceeded in the year, the next available Friday would be used as the make-up day for staff and students. Three different prepared calendar options were reviewed and discussed on moving or reducing school days for students. The option to reduce two Fridays for students and reduce two snow days built into the calendar will be presented to the board for approval at the regular March board meeting.
No motion was necessary, for discussion only.
A motion was made by Trustee Burusco and seconded by Trustee Mauroner to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed and the meeting adjourned at 6:02 pm.
