The Board of Trustees of School District No. 58, Bingham County, Idaho met in an emergency work session by teleconference at 1:00 pm on Tuesday, October 3rd, 2023 at the Aberdeen School District office at 268 S 4th W Suite A Aberdeen, Idaho.
CALL TO ORDER AND ESTABLISHMENT OF A QUORUM
Chairman Todd Lowder opened the meeting at 1:08 p.m. Present were Amy Burusco, Sherrie Mauroner, Brian Rowlan and Elaine Blik. A quorum was established.
PURPOSE OF MEETING AND BUSINESS CONDUCTED
The meeting was advertised to discuss extending Harvest Break
There was discussion about extending Harvest Break for two more days at the request of farmers still needing students to work. The school board decided not to extend Harvest Break and to instead excuse students that are continuing to work for farmers when school is back in session on 10/4/23. Any student that is still working for farmers when school is back in session can be excused with their employer signing a harvest work release form that indicates the student was still working. The board requested that students go to school if their harvest work doesn’t start until the afternoon.
