The Board of Trustees of School District No. 58, Bingham County, Idaho met in a work session by teleconference at 9:30 am on Friday, August 25th, 2023 at the Aberdeen School District office at 268 S 4th W Aberdeen, Idaho.
CALL TO ORDER AND ESTABLISHMENT OF A QUORUM
Chairman Todd Lowder opened the meeting at 9:38 a.m. Present were Amy Burusco, Sherrie Mauroner, Brian Rowlan and Elaine Blik. A quorum was established.
PURPOSE OF MEETING AND BUSINESS CONDUCTED
The meeting was advertised to discuss the Harvest Break dates.
There was discussion about changing the dates of Harvest Break at the request of some farmers planning to start their harvest later than the current school calendar schedule for FY 23-24. Superintendent Ward had contacted several farmers to receive their input on when they need students to help work for them during the break. Some farmers requested to start the break later, and some would not need to change the dates. The board proposal moving Harvest Break to start two days later from September 18th to September 20th and returning to school two days later from October 2nd to October 4th.
A motion was made by trustee Blik and seconded by trustee Mauroner to move Harvest Break from 9/18/23 through 10/2/23 changed to 9/20/23 through 10/4/23. The motion passed.
ADJOURNMENT
A motion was made by trustee Mauroner and seconded by trustee Burusco to adjourn the meeting. The motion passed and the meeting adjourned at 9:45 a.m.
