Aberdeen School District is seeking bids to put touch screen Chromebooks in the hands of 450 students in grades K-5, and 9th grades. The funds for said device will be provided by the Emergency Connectivity Fund Program (EFC). All awards are subject to ECF fund awarding from USAC. The winning bid will be notified before the ECF Funding request is filed. Due to limitations on the ECF funding application window, all bids will need to be in by August 6th, 2021 to give us time to review bids and complete the filing process. Please provide a minimum of 2 separate bids 1 for Chromebook devices and 1 for mobile hotspots. If bus connectivity is bid on please put that in its own bid as well.
Preference will be given to 2 in 1 type devices meeting or exceeding the Intel N4020 Celeron Processor with 32GB of Flash Memory and 4GB LPDDR4 RAM. Said Device shall have a Chrome Auto Update Policy (AUP) of no less than 4 years from purchase date that can be found here. The District would also prefer the device to come with a built-in type pencil to be used on the screen of said device to fill out assignments in a digital format.
The said devices will need to cover the USAC EFC guidelines that can be found here. Limiting the device per student to $400. Each hotspot will be limited to $250.
The said devices will need to have a 3-year accidental damage coverage with a quick turnaround on repairs (include the estimated time a device will be out for repairs in your bid).
The bid shall also include a bid for 50 hotspot-type devices that include filtered internet to be used at home or on the bus by students, for example, Kajeet Smartspot. These devices shall meet or exceed the Children’s Internet Protection Act (CIPA) requirements. This bid may also include up to but not to exceed 10 fixed bus solutions. The bid shall include installation in the bid for bussing solutions.
Said device should also include the Google Management license in the quote.
Said device shall be intended for educational use and have the rugged design type construction to allow for accident drops (rubberized bumpers around edges of Chromebook)
We would also like to receive a bid to upgrade our current pfSense gate/firewall appliance. To allow for increased throughput and remote connection VPN for remote workers.
The vendor shall allow payment via Service Provider Invoice (SPI) through the FCC Form 474 and Prove an FCC/USAC Service Provider Identification Number (SPIN) Number.
